The Rules
Arrange the 15 red balls in a triangular rack and the colours as per the attached image. The pink should be on its spot and the reds as close as possible to it without touching
The game begins with a break shot from within the D. The player who breaks must hit the cue ball to break up the rack. If the white ball is potted off the break play continues from within the D.
Players take turns, aiming to pocket a red, scoring 1 point each, followed by any colour, points as per the diagram above (2 for Yellow, 3 for green, up to 7 for black). Each time a colour gets potted it is returned to it’s spot. Each successful shot allows the player to continue. If they miss, the turn goes to the opponent. If you pot your red and another red it is 2 points rather than 1.
After all the reds have been potted, and the last colour following the last red if applicable, the colours are then potted in colour order from lowest to highest, Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, Pink and Black. Points after the black has been potted decide the frame.; If points are tied after the black is potted a re-spotted black is played and the winner wins the frame. A foul on the black wins the game for anyone ahead after said foul. If that foul, ties the game, then a re-spotted black is played.
Common fouls include scratching (when the cue ball is pocketed), failing to hit any ball with the cue ball, or hitting a ball not on. When a foul occurs, the opposing player can play from where the ball lies or put his opponent back in. If a player is snookered after a foul (cannot hit any portion of his on ball directly), he can nominate a free ball and pot any ball as if it were the on ball (ie one point if a red, followed by a colour as normal).
Always respect other players, take care not to lean, sit or place drinks on the table, and be mindful of your turn to keep the game enjoyable for everyone.
